Where We are Heading, Part II

Sorry for the long gap between posts - we've been busy working on core server stuff that's not glamorous but necessary in order to grow. So I thought I would write more about what's on deck.

First, we have many more merchants that we will be announcing shortly. We're moving closer to our goal of allowing you to create affiliate links to any product sold online. Our priority is to start with products that you're more likely to recommend in your blog, such as books and electronics, so give us your input on what new products and categories you'd like to see us add.

We'll start with manual link conversion for our new merchants, and we'll gradually add more products to our Zoundry Product Chooser. Our search engine is coming along nicely (more of that unglamorous work that won't result in user-facing benefits until later.) We're working with a partner to expand our search catalog and include more merchants' products sooner.

Our vision is to allow you to highlight any product name in your blog and search for matching affiliate links from one or more merchants. If multiple merchants carry the same product, you can create a link to your preferred merchant only, or create a link to all merchants and allow your readers to decide which one they want to visit. By offering more choice to you and your readers, we hope to increase click-through and purchase rates, which ultimately results in more revenue to you and the merchants.
